In this file you will find details of how to make your own maze tilesets

These should be located in the tilesets folder

The following 2 files are required

tileset.png - the maze blocks
overlay.png - the maze graphics

Please note, the overlay file MUST have magenta, RGB FF00FF, as a background for transparency to work!

The maze overview graphics are automatically generated from these files too!

Included with the game are numerous examples, so you can see how these files work

To use an included file, simply unzip it into the tilesets folder, overwriting the existing file

IMPORTANT - the retro graphics are NOT stored in this format and cannot be edited in this way

All graphics used within the game are 64x64 pixel sprites. Remember this, and the rest is easy!

Tileset.png
-----------

3 graphics joined together, in the following order:

	a) Path
	b) Highlighted path
	c) Wall

Changing these is enough to give the game a whole new feel - plenty of examples are provided!

Try to use tiles that join seamlessly for best results - unless that's not the effect you want!

Obviously, the highlighted path can be any colour of your choosing, not necessarily yellow!

Overlay.png
-----------

8 graphics joined together, in the following order:

	a) sword
	b) compass (Maziacs PJ)
	c) food
	d) gold
	e) prisoner (Maziacs PC)
	f) home
	g) tree (Maziacs PJ)
	h) weapon to remove tree (Maziacs PJ)

I stress again, the overlay file MUST have magenta, RGB FF00FF, as a background for transparency to work

If you have created your own tileset, enjoy it, share it with others, but please do NOT charge for it!
If I am prepared to give the game away for free, you should do the same with your tileset!
Or you could send them to me - I will publish the best ones on the website!

Send to:- maziacs@peejay1.freeserve.co.uk

Finally, if you have created your own maze tiles, you might be feeling confident enough to try changing the rest of the tiles too - these are located in the gfx folder, with the following filenames:

	fight.png
	maziac.png
	player.png - the biggie!

Please do not change the retro graphics - they are there to provide a retro feel!

Again, if you produce a masterpiece, feel free to send it to me for inclusion on the website

Finally, making your own graphics can be an enjoyable and rewarding experience - so give it a go - and HAVE FUN!
