It is a very simple editor but it requires some care when working with it since it is nothing more than a development tool that has been left as a gift to the player. It is operated entirely with keyboard and are as follows: - M: Increase level number. Maximum 54. Does not load automatically. - N: Decrease level number. Minimum 0. Does not load automatically. - L: Load level. - S: Save level changes. It does not notify if you load another level and you have made previous modifications so you can lose the data. - Z: Decrease block (16 possibilities). - X: Increase block (16 possibilities). - P, O, Q, A: Move cursor on the screen. - SPACE: Paint the selected block. - 0: Delete selected block (write the "empty" block). - D: Places the door at the cursor position. - G: Places Gominolo at the cursor position. - K: Place the key at the cursor position. - T: Increases the time to solve the level. When it exceeds 250 it automatically returns to 0. - C: Clear the level (save automatically). + 5: Edit level password. Watch out! Even if you do not change it, the level will be reloaded, therefore if any change has been made and it has not been saved (S), the changes will be lost. The current password and the possibility to write the new one (only letters) are displayed in a window. You have three commands available: - 0: Delete the new password and allow you to start typing it again. - 1: Cancel the change. Go back to the editor and reload the level. - ENTER: Save the new password. Go back to the editor and reload the level. - R: Start game at the current level in the mode that was set in the menu (arcade or relaxed). Save the changes first if you want to test them. + 1: Exchange two levels (and their passwords). A message appears on the top line of the screen indicating the current level and allows you to choose the level with which you want to exchange it: - Q, A: Change the level number. - Z: Cancel. - ENTER: Swap. + 2: Moves a position level (and its password). A message appears on the top line of the screen indicating the current level and allowing you to choose the new position where you want to put it. The levels move to make room. None are overwritten. - Q, A: Change the level number. - Z: Cancel. - ENTER: Move. -------------------------------------------------- -------------------- How to save levels -------------------------------------------------- -------------------- Maybe you have ventured to create your own levels and want to save them to work later or to send them to other users. The editor does not provide any immediate way to save the data, but the ability of emulators to extract and save states to files can be used. There are two ways: - Save a complete "snapshot": That is, the complete state of the game and all the memory are saved so that it can be loaded later. It is usually saved in a Z80 or SNA file. - Save binary dump: Emulators can save a memory dump in memory in binary files (.BIN). The editor itself gives us a clue of where the valuable information is located on a line on the screen after the titles "MAP" and "PWD" where there are two numbers that are the memory address and block size (in decimal). Choose in the emulator "Save binary data", "Memory dump", "Save binary data" or similar (depends on the emulator) and save two files for the map and the passwords. In another session you can load the original game and then reload these files in the positions indicated by the editor itself (they will probably be the same positions but the best way to avoid making mistakes is to open the editor). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Technical data ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Level size: 116 bytes Password size: 6 bytes -------------------------------------------------- -------------------- Do you want to share your levels? -------------------------------------------------- -------------------- If you make some levels and want to share them you can do it without problems as long as you do not distribute the originals (you can delete them) using the methods we have indicated in the previous section. --------------------------------------------------------------------- DUNGEONS OF ___ _____ __ __ ____ __ __ _ _ ____ ____ __ / __)( _ )( \/ )(_ _)( ) /__\ ( \( )( _ \(_ _) /__\ ( (_-. )(_)( ) ( _)(_ )(__ /(__)\ ) ( )(_) )_)(_ /(__)\ \___/(_____)(_/\/\_)(____)(____)(__)(__)(_)\_)(____/(____)(__)(__) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- (c) 2020 Francisco Javier Velasco Morales (c) 2020 Retroworks ----------------------------------------------------------------------
