MONTE INFIERNO Ddann/Doubleheadedsecret'20 ==== Climb up seven levels of the Monte Infierno to defeat Baal! You will meet monsters, easy, medium and hard. Harder ones appear on higher levels, where Baal roams. You have three types of attack and defence. You can hide or run away. All depends on your attributes. You can gain upgrades and experience from defeating monsters. Only difficult monsters give experience! You can learn the monsters' attributes and plan the battle. But Baal sees you and prepares too! All of the names and monster types are generated anew each game, so you never know them beforehand. Attributes: CON Constitution STR Strength DEX Dexterity WIL Willpower INT Intelligence STA Stamina LEV Level STH Stealth SPD Speed Tips: * Attack and defence points, shown during the battles: ATTACKS: FORCE = CON+STR, SKILL = STR+DEX+WIL, MAGIC = WIL+INT DEFENCES: FORCE = CON, SKILL = STR+DEX+WIL against Force attacks, DEX+WIL against Skill, STR+WIL against Magic, MAGIC = WIL+INT * Damage is the difference between attack and defence points, and is deduced from STA boosts first, then from STA itself. There are no permanent heals. * Powerups boost one attribute by at least +1, at most +6, until the end of the current battle. They have 8-letter names. * Attacks are chosen by Protagonist, Defence is chosen automatically based on the attribute (CON, WIL, or INT) which has the highest value (including boosts). If ties happen, Protagonist may choose the defence. * Ambushing and hiding takes 1 STH point, running away from a battle takes 1 SPD point. STH and SPD are restored on each level, STH=DEX, SPD=STR. No boosts count. * STR, DEX, and WIL can be permanently upgraded by experience, depending on the last winning attack against a hard monster (Force, Skill, or Magic). * Easy monsters have attribute values at most 4, medium at most 8, hard at most 12, Baal at most 16. Monsters' names are 6-letter variations. * There are 12 monster types, 4 of each difficulty, and so 12 playable powerup types, randomly generated. Baal may have more potent powerups, inaccessible for Protagonists. * Every monster has its own strategies of battle and powerup use. They do not know Protagonist's attributes, except for Baal, who sees them. * The levels are the following: 1=Easy monsters only, 2=E+Medium, 3=E+M+Hard, 4=M+H, 5=M+H+Baal, 6=H+Baal, 7=Baal only. * Deciphered attributes of monsters are printed on the screen right.
