MURDER! ======= On the floor lies a body. One of the guests in the house is a murderer, but which one? You have to pick up vital clues, and eliminate suspects from your enquiries until you find who dunnit. It won't be easy, and there's one additional problem. The murderer is stalking you. Unless you get to him (or her) before midnight, he'll get you. Sounds like fun, doesn't it? 48K ZX SPECTRUM Loading Instructions To load this program into your ZX Spectrum, first ensure that your cassette deck is properly connected and (to avoid interference) as far away from your television and power supply as possible. Playing Instructions "Who did it?" It's what's on everyone's lips. Fiona Perrywit says she has not been near the scene of the murder all night. The butler. Fawning, claims he wag on the terrace with Lady Rambling at the time; and has the Brigadier really spent all evening in the study with Dr. Drake? Rambling Hall is the country home of the Third Lord Rambling, who is a senior member of the Cabinet. One evening there is a murder. You are Inspector Pincher of the Yard. It is your task to interview everybody in the house and establish who the murderer is. You will be called to the scene of the murder as soon as the body is discovered. You will know the victim, the murder weapon, the place the murder occurred, whom the body was found by, the time it was found and roughly how long ago they were killed. You may interview anybody about the murder as long as they are in the same room as yourself. You move from room to room by pressing "GO TO" and then entering the name of the room you wish to visit. To start the interview you press "ENTER” and then enter the name of the person you wish to talk to. If you fail to do this you will just be talking to yourself (a universally recognised sign of madness!). Your interviewee will stay with you until you start talking to somebody else or leave the room. Note: The murderer has a definite tendency to deviate from the truth. There are four types of questions you may ask. We have saved your poor fingers by asigning them to keys 1 to 4 as follows: Key 1. Where were you at ? (Time) Key 2. Who were you with at ? (Time) Key 3. When were you last in/on ? (Place) Key 4. When did you last see ? (Person) Use Key 9 to recall details of the murder and Key 0 when you are ready to accuse someone. But make sure your suspicions are justified because an incorrect accusation is not only extremely embarrassing but may well end up in a transfer or demotion (and a drop in pay!). Other useful keys: Key 5 Shows the plan oh the Hall (all floors). Key 6 Lists characters involved. Key 7 Gives a list of all the murderous objects around the Hall. Key 8 Recaps the format for questioning. Best of Luck. You must find out who did it before somebody else is killed. That somebody could be you!
