An initiative test’ he said.

A walk through the garden’ he said. First he sends me to mine Magnetic Quartz Crystals in a Dromedan 
Leisure Complex (see that saga in SHEER PANIC by Visions my Chroniclers on Earth.)

Now he wants me to get mushrooms for tea (whatever that is). It sounded easy, but I should have known. 
The Mushrooms were 6 ft tall (no problem) the centipedes were only 5 ft tall (200 ft long though) 
definately a problem. Just as I was beginning to wish my Terminal Gratuity payment a worthy cause 
(The Guild for Surviving elderly Adventurers) out pops the largest Arachnid (Spider to you, chum) I 
have ever had the ultimate misfortune to lay eyes on. Now I don’t mind being eaten alive by a 
Centipede (par for the course). But I lay the line down for being a packed lunch for some idle 
spider who’s too lazy to find a decent looking fly. So remembering my lessons in advanced abject 
paranoia I unload my personal lazer and cream anything that moves (I didn’t like mushrooms anyway). 
Snails . . . whaddyamean Snails!?

Never mind the snails what about the acorns?


PROGRAM LOADING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Ensure that the tape is wound to the beginning of the cassette and that you 
   have the correct side of the tape uppermost in the cassette recorder.

2. Connect the ear socket of your Spectrum to the ear socket of your cassette 
   recorder utilising either the grey or black set of leads as supplied.

3. Set an initial volume on your recorder, say 3/4 of maximum to start with.

4. If you have treble or bass controls on your cassette recorder set the treble to 
   maximum and the bass to minimum.

5. Type LOAD""

6. Press ENTER

7. Press PLAY on the cassette recorder.

8. The program when loaded will run itself and provide full instructions. Should 
   the program not load correctly please set a different volume level on your 
   cassette recorder and try again after having reset your Spectrum.

N.B. If you are unfamiliar with your Spectrum and do not know what the correct 
loading sequence looks like on your TV set please refer to your Spectrum Manual 
chapter 20.
