ULTIMATE COMBAT MISSION ======================= In the twenty-second century criminate have all the advantages of modem technology. To contain them, the authorities confine them in the depths of space. But when they place two of the most dangerous men in history in adjacent cells, then they are asking for trouble. You play either Warmonger or Mandroid, as you battle to escape from the world's most secure jail ever. But there are no walls that could be built strong enough to contain you for long. THE GAME Mandroid, tor the heinous crimes against humanity of which you stand convicted I hereby sentence you to twenty years' confinement in orbit. Standing silent In the dock, Mandroid - history's most dangerous man and before his capture the most wanted man in the whole of the solar system - had sworn to escape even before the echoes of the Judge's words had ceased to ring around the courtroom. Crime had always been a problem, and with the dawn of the 22nd century it had not improved. The prison population soared, aa poverty rose following the final war, and the military regimes on earth became ever more repressive. Prisons became more and more difficult to control, as the criminals tried more and more often to escape. Finally the solution was found. The authorities constructed a huge space platform, circling 100 miles up above the surface of the earth. Escape was not possible from here for where was there to escspe to. Now Mandroid was to be sent there, joining Warmonger. Originally one of the leaders of the fifth revolution, he had been one of the world's greatest soldiers, until he turned mercenary and sold his genius to any terror organisation that would pay. Finally his time ran out and he became the first prisoner in Block 26, the highest security block of the orbiting prison. Now they were together. The two most dangerous most lethal men ever, and their only thought was escape. GAMEPLAY You take the role of either Warmonger or Mandroid as you battle to escape from the space prison. The guards will appear and try to stop your escape at all times. Some of them carry rocket launchers which can be picked up and turned on the captors if you manage to kill the guard carrying It. The Prison is constructed as a series of platforms. You are able to jump between them, but some of the gaps are just too large, and there is a long way to tall before you land. Eventually you will reach the supply shuttle - this is your only chance of returning home. Your only object therefore is to reech the safety of the shuttle in one piece. WARMONGER The world's greatest combat soldier. Death is your business, gold your fee. You sre armed with a pump action machine gun. This has s high rate of tire, but a limited range. MANDROID A grotesque synthesis of metal, electronics, flesh, blood and hate. You are armed with a surgically implanted robotic laser in your right arm. This has a longer range than the machine gun, but only fires at half the rate. CONTROL Select two player option or choice of character. Kempston or cursor joystick or keyboard using the cursor arrows to move and O to select. To jump hold down fire and push joystick forward. You can continue to fire while jumping. If you pick up a rocket launcher you will automatically swap to firing this rather than your normal weapon. You have unlimited number of shots, but it will disappear after a short time.
