Activision's founder and employees have founded a company to make games for the Atari 2600

The Atari 2600 console was born almost 44 years ago and then almost personally caused the collapse of the gaming industry, but it still enjoys great public love. New clones, official reincarnations or pocket models (take the recent Atari VCS or Atari Blaze for example) are constantly appearing on the market, not to mention the games that come out by the dozens from the pen of enthusiasts.

And recently a new company was born to make games for the Atari 2600. It's called Audacity Games, and it differs from other retro publishers in that it was founded by Activision co-founder David Crane and former Activision game designers Harry and Dan Kitchen. In case anyone doesn't know, Activision is responsible for the lion's share of the best games for this console - just name River Raid, Pitfall!, H.E.R.O. and Rampage. In principle, Audacity Games plans to release for other consoles as well, but the Atari 2600 is the priority for now.

This company's games will have several important features. For example, each copy will have a unique serial number, sewn right into the code. More games will use QR-codes - as for hints in some particularly difficult places and to send their records to the online table. It will be possible to do this by using a special application on a cell phone. Of course, all the games are planned to be released in large, beautiful boxes with a user manual (at a price of $ 55 to $ 65), and in addition to this collector or VIP collection edition (for $ 99 and $ 140 respectively) will boast small serial numbers, posters, certificates of authenticity, the presence of digital copies, autographs of authors and all kinds of collectible items.

The first two releases have already been announced - Casey's Gold and Circus Convoy.

The platformer Casey's Gold by Dan Kitchen will not be released until June 15, 2021. Controlling a conductor named Casey O'Kelly, you search all the cars of your train, trying to find gold bars.

Circus Convoy is a platformer in which you play the role of circus strongman Andre the Magnificent. He runs through a circus convoy of trucks trying to find a saboteur. The developers, David Crane and Harry Kitchen, promise colorful graphics and very varied gameplay. The game is out now, and you can buy it on the company's website. And Circus Convoy also has a very smug trailer:
