The Taito EGRET II Mini is announced, and it's spinning and customizable.

And here's another miniature slot machine for who? This time from Taito, the famous Japanese company that gave the world a lot of great games - for example, Bubble Bobble, Space Invaders, Arkanoid and NewZealand Story.

The new toy is called Taito EGRET II Mini - of course, in honor of the real slot machine released in 1996. Only the mini version will be 4 times smaller - 22×22×18 cm. And, of course, without a big platform - it's a little out of place here. Taito EGRET II Mini differs from its competitors not only in game sets, but also in a couple of interesting innovations - the screen here can rotate 90 degrees to make it easier to play vertical scrolling shooters, and you can change the joystick number of positions - either 4 or 8.

Despite the presence of a slot for SD-card, where you can easily fill in any game, a fair amount of them will be included - as many as 40 pieces. Moreover, 10 more games will be sold separately including a gamepad with a trackball and a rotating handle similar to the one used in Pong.

The Taito EGRET II Mini will go on sale March 2, 2022 - initially only in Japan. The game machine itself costs 18,678 yen on Japanese Amazon or $170 on PlayAsia. A set with the aforementioned gamepad and 10 additional games will cost you $300, and a mega set of the machine itself, three different gamepads and a CD with the TAITO 70th Anniversary / ZUNTATA 35th Anniversary soundtrack is $ 440.

In short, for collectors and fans of Taito games, it's a great buy, well worth its money. And for many others, too, for sure. And here's the full list of games, both those that come with the arcade machine itself and those that come with the gamepad.
