Friendly site Planeta Sinclair has led us to the horizontal scrolling shooter SuperHair by Lee Chops Stephenson, author of platformers The Hair-Raising Adventures of Mr Hair and Mr Hair & The Fly.
The game is designed great - beautiful screen saver, nice menu, music for 48K and 128K. But the gameplay doesn't shine with such heights - the action takes place in a small window, the playing field is always extremely monochrome (engine limitations), the levels are very narrow, and the enemies are very fast and often jump out of the most, sorry, inconvenient places, making it impossible to dodge. The lack of auto-shooting does not help, and since you have to shoot all the time, your fingers get tired very quickly. No, hardcore fans of the genre SuperHair may be to their liking, but ordinary players are unlikely to be drawn in for long.
You can download the game from official page on itch.io or from Perfect Pixel: here's version for 128K, and here's for 48K. And you can also buy the cassette box-it costs exactly £10 on the Bitmap Soft publisher's website.
