The "non-existent" game Organic Matter from the "500 Games" collection has been released

As the most experienced Spectrumists know, the legendary "500 Games" compilations from the publishing house "VA Print" were famous not only for the enormous amount of diverse information about really existing games (there were descriptions literally in a few sentences, and translations of reviews from the British magazines, and just some crazy nonsense), but also for the texts about the games which never were released on ZX Spectrum. Some of the titles and descriptions were bluntly borrowed from other platforms, some were taken from songs, and others were just out of my head.

One such game called Organic Matter (described in issue 7) obviously got into Ilya Chentsov's head a lot. Here's her description:

By the end of 2143, there were about 100 large laboratories in space where new organic matter was being studied and created. Thousands of people had been working on this project for a long time, but they had not achieved great results. The laboratory stations began to be closed down by the government because they were not profitable. Such laboratories were turning into huge space wanderers.

The following happened at one of these abandoned stations. Due to a short circuit in the network, the life-support center of one of the mutants bred at the station turned on. It came to life. It was incredible. And from that moment on, all the troubles for mankind began.

The mutant possessed exceptional intelligence, for he had received a brain transplant from one of the deceased scientists. Alone, he managed to set up the station and convert it into a warship. Subsequently, he began to produce his own. The ship became a terror to all merchant starships.

Under these circumstances, the Earth government has decided to destroy this ship. In order to do so, it is necessary to disable its energy source and destroy all mutants. This task is entrusted to you. You will be teleported to the station. Let's go!

Good luck!

To give these simple lines more credibility, Ilya contacted Boris Repertur, known to many as Bonus from the cult TV show "From the Screw", and he voiced the story with his own unique voice. Ilya didn't stop there and decided to make a trailer of the non-existent game, using AGD as a toolkit:

While working on the trailer, the full-fledged game came to life, and I want to believe it was the first from the "500 Game Descriptions Come to Life on ZX Spectrum" series. Download Organic Matter from official page or from "Perfect Pixel".
