The original Metal Gear to be ported to the Amiga

The "Kojima is a genius" meme is quite popular in gaming circles. The fame of the Japanese game designer was brought by the series of games Metal Gear, the first part of which was released in 1987. For newfags now, of course, it's hard to explain what the genius of this opus was, but Olds remember. In short: this game is now considered to be the ancestor of the stealth action genre. Metal Gear was originally released on MSX2, and then it was ported to different platforms, including NES.

And soon another port will be released for Commodore Amiga. It's announced by British developer H0ffman, a famous Amiga Demoscene member. He has been working on the port since at least November 2020, and now he says the code is 90% complete. As proof, H0ffman shows a video of the game running under the WinUAE emulator.

The Amiga version will have improved sound effects and music, with the author leaving the option to switch to the original sound. An Amiga 500 with 512 Kbytes of RAM will be required to run. The port is expected to run on both PAL and NTSC at full frame rate.
