Bitmap Soft has released on cassette an expanded version of the excellent arcade game Cosmic Payback, which took a solid third place in the Yandex Retro Games Battle 2020 competition(/news/retrogamesbattle2020/).
The game by John Connolly (PROSM) is about the adventures of a giant bouncing ball in space. You have to guide the sphere bouncing evenly off the surface through tangled space mazes, gathering necessary resources at the same time and trying not to fall into the abysses of weightlessness outside of safe corridors.
Cosmic Payback is an insanely addictive and equally challenging game, ruthless to make mistakes and requiring (especially in later levels) lightning-fast reactions and wagons of patience. Buyers of the cassette "enhanced version" will get six new levels available in the main menu, as well as improved graphics in places, fewer bugs per square kilobytes of code, and a little extra optimization.
You can buy the game on the Bitmap Soft website for exactly £10 (plus another £3.5 for shipping to Russia). Let's hope that after the first print run is completely sold out, John Connolly will start selling an extended version of Cosmic Payback digitally as well.
